Symbolism runs through the veins of Hinduism; each of our festivals is filled with meaning. Navratri is no different. The first thing we as Gujaratis remember about Navratri is Garba. The music, the dancing, the beautiful clothes, bring joy and excitement unlike any other! But there's something more to it as well.
During the nine days of Navratri, we pray to Durga Maa to ask for strength - strength to defeat the flaws and limitations within us. Most of us aren't evil by any stretch of the imagination, but still we are all works in progress - trying to become better each day.
This activity focuses on what we, as a family, can do to become better! Try it out and let us know how it goes :)
